What the claim actually covers

The useful variations are in what the agent does with what it finds. Some return a summary. Some act on it: booking the thing they found, filling in the form, comparing prices and picking one. The second kind is far more useful and far more consequential when the underlying research was wrong.

Arlo describes operating tools that have no API by logging in through a secure browser, which is a meaningfully different technique from calling a search API and worth understanding before you grant it credentials.

The thing to look for is whether the agent cites what it found. In a text thread there is rarely room, which means most of these products ask you to trust a conclusion without showing the source.
