How it works
Homer answers on iMessage on an iPhone and on SMS on Android, from one number, with nothing to install and no account to create. Its own summary is blunt about the pitch: no download, no login, no account, just text.
The part that separates it from the other no-install assistants is that it will make a phone call for you. Its own examples are asking it to call a dentist and book a cleaning, to which it answers that it is calling now and will text the result. That is the same capability Wajo, Pally, Catch, Arlo and Duckbill have, and it is rarer than the marketing in this category suggests.
It also runs standing jobs rather than only answering: a morning brief at a set time, a watch on a flight price that pings when it drops, an alert when a term is mentioned. The free tier covers a small number of those watches and the paid tiers lift the limit.
Its privacy policy names the model providers it routes to, which most of this directory does not: Anthropic, Google and Perplexity, with Composio brokering the app connections. It states that conversation history is kept for as long as the account is active and that you can have it deleted by texting Homer to delete your account.
One line on the homepage says Homer is used by over 18 million forgetful grandmas. It is a joke, and it is not recorded here as traction.
