What separates Muse and Pally

Both are general assistants for one person, both text first, and the capability lists are close. The interesting divergence is structural: one of these products is made by the company that owns the channel, and the other is a customer of three channels it names.

Where it reaches you

Muse is WhatsApp and web. Pally is iMessage, RCS and Telegram, so it meets an iPhone where it already is. Neither reaches the other's users, which makes this less of a contest than it looks.

Who carries your messages

Muse's carrier is Meta, because Muse is Meta. Pally names Photon and Linq for iMessage and RCS, Twilio for call audio, and a Mac it runs in the cloud for the hosted add-on. Twenty four listings here can be tied to a carrier at all, and this pair shows the two ways that happens: own the pipe, or publish who you rent it from.

What it costs

Pally publishes free, $25 and $100 a month, with call minutes as the meter and $0.50 a minute over. Muse says free for most of what people need with plans above it, and names no figure on that page. Both are free to start and only one tells you what happens next.

Pally states what a group chat means: the messages, the handles and the names, and an acknowledgement that those conversations carry other people's personal information. Muse does not address it. For a product that lives inside the world's largest group-chat app, that blank is the one worth noticing.

Muse states an opt-out with a switch in settings. Pally's answer is qualified: its AI providers are configured so your data is not used to train AI models, which covers the providers and leaves Pally's own use unstated. Neither is silent, and they are answering slightly different questions.
