What separates Instinct and Pally
These two do close to the same job and almost nothing else about them matches. The capability rows overlap heavily: email, calendar, bookings, travel, research, memory, calls placed on your behalf, and both can talk to another person's agent. What separates them is everything around the work.
How you get in
Instinct is invite only and the invites are scarce enough that people have been selling them. Pally is a link you tap. One of those is a choice about controlling growth and the other is a choice about being available, and for most people reading this it is the whole decision.
Who moves first

What it costs
Pally publishes the ladder: free, then $25 a month or $250 a year, then $100 a month or $1,000 a year, with calls as the meter at 15, 30 and 60 minutes and $0.50 a minute after that. Instinct publishes no price at all, while its terms carry a paid-services section describing fees in dollars charged to a card. One has decided what to charge and said so.

This is the row that matters most and the one nobody looks at. Pally addresses it: if you add it to a group chat, it says it takes the group's messages and the participants' handles and names, and that those conversations may include personal information about other people. Instinct does not address it anywhere this directory could find. Both can be in a thread with somebody who never agreed to any of this. Only one of them has written down what that means.
Who carries the messages
Pally names Photon and Linq for iMessage and RCS and Twilio for call audio. Instinct names nobody. That is a question about who is physically holding your texts, and one of them will tell you.
What you are agreeing to
Instinct's terms are unusually direct: you appoint the service as your agent to enter into agreements and transactions on your behalf, actions may not always be reversible, and the consequences are yours. Pally publishes no approval statement here at all. Candour about the risk against silence about the control, which is not the same as one being safer.
