Phone and internet bills

8 public posts of somebody having an AI agent they text handle phone and internet bills, from 8 people, on Muse and Instinct. 8 of them posted a figure, $40 to $1,920, each the author's own. None reports going wrong; people post successes.

The shape is the same in every post: the person hands over the bill, sets a ceiling or asks only for a look, and the agent goes to the carrier's retention desk by chat or by phone and comes back with a lower number. One user on 14 September authorised any AT&T offer under $70 on an $80 bill and got $40; another on the 15th got $30 on a faster plan from the same carrier, which says the outcome is the account's and the representative's rather than the agent's. Verizon appears more than once, one of them overnight while the user slept. Where a call was needed the agent held through the phone tree and, in two posts, patched the person in once identity had to be verified. Nobody has yet posted a carrier bill that went back up, and nobody has posted the transcript.

The posts, by agent

Muse7

  1. A user says Muse got him a $200 gift card from Verizon that he had forgotten to claim when he signed up, and that this pays for the product for a year or two.

    Why it is notable

Money sitting in a carrier's system, the smallest kind of unclaimed property, and the first sighting to price the product against what it recovered. The figure is his; the post does not say what Muse did to claim it.

  2. A user says Muse was in a chat with AT&T's retention team about his fibre bill and came back with $30 a month on the faster plan, down from $80 on the slower one, for 24 months, plus three months free and a confirmation number. He says it saved him an hour.

    Why it is notable

The same carrier and the same day as another user's $80 to $40, with a lower number and a faster plan, which says the outcome depends on the account and the representative rather than on the agent. This one was a chat rather than a call, and it ended with a confirmation number, which the others did not mention.

  3. The user whose car insurance Muse re-shopped a day earlier had it call AT&T about fibre internet at two homes. He says it verified his identity, reached a loyalty representative and patched him in, and that the result is $1,920 saved over the next 24 months, with a further $10 a month it flagged for switching to bank autopay and paperless billing.

    Why it is notable

A second win from the same person in two days, and this one is a call with a hand-off: identity verified and the representative reached before he was brought on. The same carrier, the same negotiation and a similar shape appear from three other users this week; the figure here is the largest of them and is his.

  4. A Meta employee had Muse call Xfinity to negotiate his internet bill. He says it got through the phone tree to a person, hit a verification text it could not read, and patched him into the call live; for a minute it was the agent, him and a representative who, in his words, had no idea it was an agent. He puts the saving at $85.30 a month locked for five years, and says the call transcript shows the agent, named Hailey, talking to the representative.

    Why it is notable

Filed as the company's account because the author's profile says he leads wearables AI at Meta, and the post does not say so. It is also the most detailed description anywhere of a Muse call: a named voice agent, a hand-off when the agent hit something it could not read, and a representative not told what was on the line, which is the row the calls piece on this site counts and the one Meta's pages leave blank.

  5. A user told Muse to open a live chat with Verizon support and went to bed. It brought the bill from $516 a month to $386. He had asked only for a look at the bill; the negotiation followed from a complaint and a yes.

    Why it is notable

The largest bill reduction on the record and the loosest instruction: the agent went further than the literal ask on the strength of a complaint and a one-word approval. That is the proactivity question this site records, seen from a user's side.

  6. A user reports Muse haggling with an internet provider's representative on his behalf and saving $300 on the bill in under ten minutes.

    Why it is notable

A third bill negotiation in a week, after AT&T and Verizon, which makes the carrier retention line the single most-reported job for Muse on this site. The post does not say whether the exchange was chat or voice.

  7. A user authorised Muse to accept any AT&T fibre offer under $70 a month on an $80 bill. He says it came back with $40 a month and three months free.

    Why it is notable

The instruction is the useful part: a ceiling set in advance and the agent left to negotiate under it, which is the approval shape several listings describe and few sightings show. The same job, a carrier bill, is the one Instinct's users posted first.

Instinct1

  1. iMessage

Instinct's notification, posted as a screenshot: $120 a year off a Verizon bill negotiated the night before, and $58 back from Amazon the same day, which it summed up as not bad for a day's errands. The poster, a founder unconnected to Instinct, called the Verizon discount the most convincing evidence of AGI yet.

    Why it is notable

The fourth account here of an agent chasing money on somebody's behalf, and the first with a carrier on the other end of the negotiation. Two things in the screenshot the post does not say: the agent reports a running tally rather than one result, and it reached the user as an iMessage notification, unprompted, which is what the proactivity row records.
